Group Chief Editor of CICG Attends the 2024 LMCADA Launch Ceremony
On April 24th, the launch ceremony for the 5th annual Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Art and Design Award (LMCADA) in 2024 was held successfully in Beijing. The LMCADA is an internationally recognized artistic design competition elevated with the support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ LMC Special Fund. Numerous agencies from Lancang-Mekong countries, including but not limited to the China Center for International Communication Development—a subsidiary of China International Communication Group (CICG)—have diligently co-hosted this event.
Esteemed guests such as Gao Anming, Group Chief Editor at CICG, Minister Counsellor Zhao Chenggang from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Asia Department, and Minister Counsellor Zin Mar Htwe, Deputy Head of Mission from the Myanmar Embassy in China, graced the event with their presence and speeches.
During his welcome speech, Gao congratulated the commencement of the competition, noting that CICG has seen significant expansion in transnational, multi-tier collaborations and exchanges under the Lancang-Mekong cooperation framework in recent years, persistently achieving new progress and results. He voiced his aspirations for these joint efforts to propel the cultural communication between countries integrated in the Lancang-Mekong River Basin, harvesting more significant exchange outcomes and fostering mutual appreciation and understanding of diverse cultures.
Additionally, Gao, together with local and international guests, participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the launch event, officially announcing the start of this year’s competition.
The high-profile attendees collectively contributed to the creation of a large-scale art installation named “500 Brushes·Lancang-Mekong Cooperation” at the venue, and also took a tour of the “Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Art & Design Award Outstanding Works Exhibition”.
